The word coast is a noun.  Coast means (1) the act of moving smoothly along a surface while remaining in contact with it, (2) the area within view, (3) a slope down which sleds may coast, (4) the shore of a sea or oceanCoast is also a verb that means (1) move effortlessly; by force of gravity.
