  This is the official website for the Girl Scouts. The Girl Scouts were founded by Juliette Gorden Low in 1912 and chartered by Congress in 1950.   The Corporation was founded in 1993 to connect Americans with opportunities to volunteer their services. There are three major programs within the Corporation: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America.
